There’s No I In Team

When I applied for a job at Door County Adventure Center (DCAC) it was for the Marketing Internship. I realized after the interview I probably wasn’t the most qualified candidate for the Marketing Internship, but was still hopeful. To my surprise, Anna (the Business Manager) emailed me back and informed me that she and Tim (the Owner) were offering me a different position. A Sales Internship. It was a new position created based on my interview and background in sales, I gratefully accepted this exciting opportunity! I knew it would provide me with sales experience and give me the opportunity to live in one of the most beautiful Wisconsin locations.

My role as the Sales Intern is to sell the Team Building and Leadership Development side of DCAC. These Team Building and Leadership Development programs are great opportunities for schools, sports teams, non-profit, and corporate groups to expand on their communication, productivity, and leadership. The focus changes based on the groups needs. This is a great way for each team to achieve what they’re looking to get out of during the day(s). The groups also get to challenge themselves on our low ropes/high ropes courses. This pushes them not only as an individual, but as a group that has to come together to achieve a common goal.

I also occasionally put together family reunions. These may consist of kayaking and zip lining adventures and more!. Just a couple weeks ago we had a family reunion that consisted of 50 kayakers and 25 zipliners! Being given the opportunity for this Sales Internship has been a fantastic experience. If you or someone you know is looking for a hands on internship experience and a great adventure, look no further, Door County Adventure Center is the place for you!
