Founder/President

Level 2 Ropes Course Instructor, Level 4 ACA Coastal Sea Kayaking Instructor, Certified Zip Line Instructor-Guide, ABEE Inc. Instructor Trainer, Nationally Registered EMT, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College Adjunct Faculty Instructor, and Keynote Speaker. Tim earned his Master of Science in Education.

Abbey Tierney

Operations Manager

Abbey graduated from Central Michigan University with a BAA in Outdoor and Environmental Education and minor in Youth Studies.  She comes to us with an ample amount of trail guiding experience and current Wilderness First Responder certification. Outside of work you can find her enjoying being on the water, spending time with family/friends, and traveling!

James Tockstein

James Tockstein

Program Manager

James graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin with a B.S. in International Business. He is an avid outdoors-man with experience as a kayak guide, zip-line guide, program facilitator, and was previously our Kayak Operations Supervisor. His favorite pastimes are rock-climbing, hiking, paddle sports, and petting dogs.

Fun Fact: “My favorite color is either green or red but I’m colorblind so I’m not sure which.”

Alanna is a senior at UW-Eau Claire double majoring in communications and French. She grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin and enjoys staying active both indoors and out. When she’s not outdoors, Alanna enjoys baking and cooking homemade food!

Amy is a Level 1 Ropes Course Facilitator, Certified Zip Line Instructor-Guide, and has a BA in Music Education. September to June, she teaches Music and Choral at Chilton Public School District.

Casey is going into her senior year at Denison University, double majoring in Biology and Environmental Studies. You can find her outdoors or behind the cover of her favorite book. She’s from Cleveland, Ohio but tries to spend every summer in a new place. She can’t wait to explore more of Wisconsin.

Cole is from Fargo, ND and has a degree in Social Science Education from NDSU. He spent two years teaching high school social studies before moving to Door County. Cole loves the outdoors, all dad jokes, and has been happily married to Lahren (another guide here) for four years!

Francis Lucchetti

Zip Line Guide, Kayak Guide & Rentals Associate

Francis is working his first season at Door County Adventure Center as a zip line and kayak guide. He is usually found studying political philosophy as a rising junior at Hillsdale College in Michigan. He loves the Latin Mass, folk music, and anything done in the outdoors, especially anything pertaining to the water.

Marketing Associate

Garrett is a graduate of UW Eau-Claire with a degree in Marketing.  He was a Marketing Intern for us his first season and now he returns to do some behind-the-scenes marketing projects for us!

Kayak Guide & Rentals Associate

Isaac is a Double Major in Film Production and Music Industry at UW-Oshkosh. During the school year, he works as an event photographer, personal trainer, and martial arts instructor. In his free time, you can find him booking last-minute flights, playing music with his friends, and shopping for sneakers online.

Jake is studying Applied Linguistics at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. In his free time, you can find him hiking, surfing, or taking care of his garden.

Jared (right) is from Watertown, WI and currently a junior studying business at the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh. Growing up he has spent much time in the Door County area but is excited for new experiences here with Door County Adventure Center (DCAC) and his new buddy Tanner (left), another DCAC guide. Jared is a Wisconsin sports fanatic and an avid outdoors and sportsman.

Fun fact: “On a fishing trip in Canada, I caught the biggest fish of my life. It was an actual sea monster of a northern pike, a leviathan, but before we could measure it or even take a picture, my dad dropped it out of the boat. It was probably the biggest fish that has actually ever been caught. I promise that it really happened!”

Kaylee is a recent UW Stevens Point graduate with a major in Arts Management and a double minor in Communication and History. She grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin and spent many summers visiting Door County with her friends and family. In her free time, she loves to go camping and see live music!

Fun fact: “My favorite band of all time is The Beatles. Last summer I got to check an item off my bucket list by seeing Paul McCartney at Lambeau Field!”

Lahren Sandford

Lahren is a Minnesota native who just graduated with a BS degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from MSUM.  She loves anything that gets her outdoors, and is happily married to Cole (another DCAC guide)! As long as Lahren’s near a lake she’s happy!

Leah Kern

Leah is a junior at Marquette University and is studying exercise physiology. In her free time she enjoys running, hiking, biking, and spending time exploring the outdoors. She is so excited to spend her entire summer in Door County!

Fun fact: “A few years ago, I went on a kayak camping trip. After setting up our first campsite, we decided to pack-up and move to a new site on an island across the river. In the morning, we were glad we had moved because the original camp site was inhabited by a herd of cows.”

Rachel is a senior at UW-Stout majoring in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management. She enjoys campfires, s’mores, and being near the water.

Roni is a Minnesota native currently studying Sociology and Journalism at Boston University. You can find her listening to Charles Bradley, hiking, or eating a peanut butter sandwich (usually all three at once).

Fun Fact: “Anyone I’ve ever known would say that I can be a very clumsy person. Because of this, I’ve tripped and fallen in some pretty crazy places: down a flight of stairs on the Great Wall of China, at border customs in Zambia, on a rice field in Thailand, at a Quinceañera in Mexico, over a tow truck cable attached to a car in London, and the list continues… Ask me about a place in the world I’ve visited, and I’ve probably taken an oddly timed but classically embarrassing fall there!”

Rose is currently a junior at Central Michigan University with a major in Integrative Public Relations and a double minor in Advertising and Journalism. She loves to travel and last summer studied abroad in Florence, Italy. Outside of school and work she loves going to music festivals and concerts.

Tanner is from Minnesota and currently studying Mechanical Engineering at Minnesota State University, Mankato. You can find him skiing everyday during the winter and hiking with friends in the summer.

Tommy just graduated high school in Sun Prairie this February and is going to attended Gogebic College in the fall to study Ski Area Management specializing in Slope Grooming.

Kayak Guide & Rentals Associate

Zoe is a junior at Northern Michigan University majoring in Wildlife Management with a minor in Outdoor Recreational Leadership. She loves the outdoors, theater, and art. She is very excited to be working with DCAC this year.

Fun Fact: “I once backpacked 70 miles through New Mexico when I was 16!”
