Now that summer is underway, it’s time to have some fun in the sun! From scenic tours to adrenaline-filled adventures, there’s something for everyone. Whether you are visiting for a weekend getaway or here for the summer, we’ve put together the ultimate Door County Summer Bucket List for a memorable trip.
Beach Day
First up: the beach! No Door County summer is complete without a day by the water, and Egg Harbor Beach is the perfect spot to kick things off. This beach is naturally sheltered making the waters calm and ideal for kayaking or paddleboarding. We have your covered there! Door County Adventure Center has a rental shed for paddleboards and kayaks located right on the beach. Looking to just relax? No problem! Egg Harbor Beach has soft sand, restrooms, a pavilion to enjoy your lunch at, and it’s close to downtown to end your beach day with a snack from the variety of restaurants to choose from.
Zipline at Rowley’s Bay
Want a thrill with the best view? Try our Rowley’s Bay Zipline and see Lake Michigan from up high as you soar through the woods. This course has a total of 8 zips and is a great way to see Door County from a new perspective.
The Thirsty Cow Taphouse
Did you know the Thirsty Cow is Door County’s ONLY self-pour taphouse? It’s true! With a variety of rotating taps, seltzers, and ciders from local Wisconsin Breweries and Distilleries, this taphouse has a well-deserved spot on our bucket list. While you’re there, pair your beverage with a charcuterie spread or their Tipsy Tots; and you can’t pass up a “Cow Pie” for dessert!
Segway Tour at the Rushes
Cruise through nature in a new way– Off-road Segway’s! This tour captures breathtaking views of the Niagara Escarpment and Kangaroo Lake. Segway tours allow you a new way to “hike” and explore nature!
Fourth of July Fireworks Tour
Who doesn’t love fireworks? At Door County Adventure Center, we take firework views to the next level by giving you front row views that you can’t get anywhere else- from the water! Our firework tour ensures you have a memorable Fourth, without fighting with crowds. Fireworks from Egg Harbor go off on July 3rd– be sure to book with us before the tour is sold out!
Cave Point County Park
Arguably one of the best views of Lake Michigan in the county, Cave Point is a great place to hike, picnic, grill out, or just enjoy the views and take lots of pictures. The park features limestone cliffs, underwater caves, and an assortment of fossils. Cave Point is a tourist and local favorite spot for a reason- check it out!
