At the moment, August seems far away, but put a mark on your calendar for the Annual Door County Classic and Wooden Boat Festival. On August 12-13, the Door County Maritime Museum will be holding the event that you will not want to miss. The weekend will be filled with beautiful wooden boats, a boat sale, and the Sikaflex Boat-building Challenge. Come to the wooden boat festival to cast your vote for the People’s Choice Boat Awards, or enter the raffle for a chance to win your very own wooden boat!  If you would like more information about the events, you can visit doorcountyclassicboatfestival.com.

Although you can walk up and down the shore, the best place to see all the activities is from the water; that’s where we come in!  We want to show off the festival from a different point of view. We are offering kayak tours throughout the weekend from our Stone Harbor location. During the tour, you can check out the Sturgeon Bay coastline, the drawbridges, and all the wooden boats in for the festival. Tour times include:

  • Friday – 10am, 2pm and Sunset
  • Saturday – 10am, 2pm, Sunset (which will coincide with the Sturgeon Bay Yacht Club’s Venetian Night Parade) as well as an 8:00pm Fireworks Kayak Tour
  • Sunday – 10am, 2pm and Sunset

The perfect way to spend the evening on the water is with us on one of our sunset tours. A bonus to Saturday’s tour is it will be at the same time as the Sturgeon Bay Yacht Club boat parade.  If you’re looking to end your night on a BANG, join us for our Sturgeon Bay Fireworks Kayak Tour!
